Key Programmes
Teaching and Learning
Science department believes in enthusing and nurturing our students to be scientifically literate so that they can make informed decisions and take responsible actions in their daily lives. In addition, the department wants to provide strong science fundamentals for students to innovate and pursue STEM for future learning and work. Through the Inquiry-based learning, the department strives to develop our students to be inspired by science, inquire like scientists, and innovate using science. The school has also adopted strategies such as RISES and CCC further hone their thinking process when they encounter science questions.
Eureka! With Family
This programme aims to strengthen home-school partnership in science learning.
Through Eureka! with Family SLS lesson packages, the department hopes to
encourage parents and family members to spark a meaningful discussion with
students on how science is linked to our everyday lives.
STEM in the Woods
STEM in the Woods emphasises on the integration of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics to create a more holistic and interconnected approach to learning. The programme encourages students to apply knowledge from multiple domains to solve real-world problems, mirroring the collaborative and interdisciplinary nature of many professions in the 21st century. It also provides students with an opportunity to showcase their talent and develop their potential in Science.
Science SPARKS
Students have different opportunities to hone their talents and interests in Science. Excellence 2000 (E2K) Science
Excellence 2000 (E2K) Science (Primary 4 & 5) are for selected students who not only possess an aptitude for Science but also display interest in learning new Science concepts. These programmes go beyond the Primary Science curriculum and promote open inquiry and higher order thinking skills in students.
Science Class library
To encourage our students to read more widely, every class has a collection of science magazines added to their class library. This is to instil curiosity in our students about the environment we live in and is inspired to discover more about science in our everyday lives.
Science Learning Journey
The science learning journeys ignite curiosity and wonder in our students to explore learning science beyond the classroom. It inspires a lifelong love for learning and discovery of science concepts linked to the real-world context. It also nurtures knowledgeable and scientifically literate individuals who can contribute to a better future for themselves and the world.
